6 Days Tour – Genoa

The Italian Riviera

  • Day 1: The arrival

The Tour starts in the Airport/Port of your arrival. We will welcome you on board of our comfortable 56 seats Iveco Magelys bus. First stop at the Hotel in Genoa or nearby, to drop off luggage and relax after the long trip. It may be possible to have a quick visit of the city during the night, before overnight stay.

  • Day 2: Genoa

On the second day, entire day visiting Genoa. You will visit the old town center, with many narrow alleys and little squares. Visit to the Genoa Cathedral, built in 878, religious, artistic and cultural center of the city. Visit to the Doge’s Palace, once the home of the Doges of Genoa, it is now a museum and a centre for cultural events and arts exhibitions.

  • Day 3: Discovering Cinque Terre

On the third day you will visit the Cinque Terre National Park, included as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, divided in five lovely little towns: Riomaggiore, Manarola, Corniglia, Vernazza e Monterosso. The landscape is characterize by the “ciàn”, land terraces with little dry stone walls all along the hills of this area. The collection of five cliff-side towns on the Ligurian Coast linked by a series of trails highlights a delicate relationship between man and the environment and will leave you speechless for its stunning beauty.

  • Day 4: Porto Venere and the Islands

On the fourth day you will visit Porto Venere, a lovely town unchanged in time and designated by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. You will start from the port and you will go up surrounded by pastel coloured houses. Up the hill you will visit the Gothic Church of St. Peter, consecrated in 1198 and the Doria Castle with the walls around the historic center. Possibility to go for a boat trip to Palmaria island, to Tino island with the ruins of Saint Venerius Monastery, and to Tinetto island. Bus transfer to Lerici, medieval town with the castle which that contains a museum of palaeontology.

  • Day 5: Santa Margherita, Portofino, Camogli, San Fruttuoso

Bus departure towards Santa Margherita Ligure, visit to the Villa Durazzo complex; to Santa Margherita Ligure Castle, built by the Republic of Genoa in 1550 as defence against the increasing attacks of North African pirates; to the Basilica of Santa Margherita di Antiochia, built from 1658 on the remains of a 13th-century church and to Cervara Abbey, a historically relevant abbey on the road to Portofino. Bus transfer towards Portofino, a fishing village and holiday resort famous for its picturesque harbour and historical association with celebrity and artistic visitors. After the visit of Portofino, possibility to visit the Abbey of San Fruttuoso, built in 1100. Bus transfer towards Camogli, fishing village and tourist resort located on the west side of the peninsula of Portofino, on the Golfo Paradiso, and visit to the Dragonara Castle. Bus transfer to Genoa.

  • Day 6: Genoa, end of the Tour

Depending on the flight departure time, possibility to go for an extra excursion in Genoa. You will have the possibility to go for a walk in Via Garibaldi, UNESCO World Heritage Site. Bus transfer to the Airport/Port.
